Garbage

What does the Homeowners' Association do?
Here are some of the things:

  1. Maintain the grounds (cutting the grass, trimming the shrubbery) and common areas (pool, entranceways, etc.)

  2. Provide termite control on the outside of the buildings

  3. The Homeowners's Association no longer pays for any cable services. (Until the summer of 2009, the HOA did pay for basic cable TV from Brighthouse.)

  4. Maintains the contract for trash/garbage pickups.  Presently there are two garbage pickups each week, Monday and Thursday.  On Thursday the service will also pick up the recycle bin.

  5. Maintains the contract for pool services.  Presently our pool is serviced three times a week.  (Did you know that we have a heated swimming pool?!)

  6. Pays the electricity used by the street lights on the property, plus bills for watering the common area.

What does the Homeowner's Association NOT provide?

  1. Homeowners are responsible for all utilities, including phone, electric, cable and water (sewer is added to the homeowner's water bill)
  2. Homeowners are responsible for pest control inside their units.
  3. Homeowners are responsible for insuring their unit from the garage floor up to and including the roof with a "Homeowner's 3 policy" [HO-3].
